When You’re Being Too Scientific, and When Being a Bit More Wouldn’t Kill You

Chris can be overly scientific sometimes. Take, for example, an excerpt of a conversation we were having on the validity of speed limits:

Chris: "Well you can't really tell how fast you're going in concrete terms, since speed is only a concept. That you are moving is a concrete fact, but speed is a concept."

To which I replied: "So is you being a moron a concept, or a concrete fact?"

And yet here is how he describes the miracle of birth:

"So, how do you think its going to feel to have a small human squirm out from between your legs?"

I think that's how they describe it in medical textbooks too.

My reply to the moron comment:

"It is an untrue concept."
